Women's MinistryAll Women at Southside United Methodist Church are welcome to become involved in the many fellowship activities offered throughout the year.
United Methodist Women - is an organized community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Women meet the first Monday of the month at 9:30 am in the Family Life Center for fellowship, a program, and service projects. Coffee begins at 9:30 am, Circles at 10:00 am, Meeting at 11:00 am and Lunch at noon. The Rebekah Circle meets the first Tuesday evening of the month at 7:00 pm. Betty Lou Watson is the current president. Women's Bible Studies -Three small group women's Bible studies are offered throughout the year for some women-focused lessons and camaraderie. WOW Women - Meets the third Monday of the month for food, fellowship, and wise words from a speaker followed by discussion. Mini Faith Lift Women's Retreat - On February 5 & 6, 2010 in Fernandina Beach, all women, regardless of their church affiliation are invited to attend this year's retreat. Marie Stanley will be the speaker. Summer Salad Series - Each Wednesday evening in July, women of all walks com to be inspired by the powerful testimonies of Godly women. The topic is The Voice of Truth: Hearing God Above the Crowd. Reservations open the week of June 21, 2010. The presentation follows a light summer dinner, dessert, and fellowship. Big Sisters in Christ - A program connecting women and youth girls of the church to build life long relationships in Christ and friendships with one another. Visit the site and become a Big Sister! |
