Scholarship Application Forms 2010

Dear Student,

As you plan the next steps in your educational career, you may be thinking about how to help finance your college education. There are a number of ways your church can help. Southside United Methodist Church offers partial scholarships for many programs of undergraduate studies and for graduate studies in Theology and Christian Education according to the following guidelines:

EVAN KINDT GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Available to current year high school graduates accepted in a program of studies at an accredited college or university
Applicants are selected according to: (1) active status in the church, (2) full completion of forms, (3) a written goal statement, and (4) a letter of recommendation from a church member not related to the candidate.

M. G. LEWIS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Available to graduate students enrolled in an accredited institution and seeking a degree in Ordained Ministry or Christian Education
Applicants are selected according to: (1) grade point average, (transcript required) (2) active status in the church, (3) full completion of forms, and (4) personal statement of need and merit.

JOHN AND MARGARET MCNATT SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Available to any student accepted into an accredited school, college, or university program leading to a certification or a degree in the student's field of study
Applicants are selected according to (1) grade point average verified by transcript, (2) active status in church, (3) need based upon criteria of Department of Education Questionnaire, (4) written goal statement and (5) a letter of recommendation from a non-relative member of Southside United Methodist Church.

YOUR APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETE FOR YOU TO RECEIVE CONSIDERATION. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please complete each section of the on-line application by February 23, 2010, 5:00 pm.
