Southside youth (and adults) will be serving on mission trips this summer.  Keep reading for details about each trip.  In the next few weeks, we will post opportunities through which you can join the effort without even leaving your home or the city, such as sponsor a suitcase of supplies, pray for the trips, and more. 

Guatemala Mission Trip

August 1 - August 9, 2010

Who Can Go: Senior High Youth and Adults

What We Will Do: Southside United Methodist has the awesome privilege of traveling to Guatemala next summer to help the Mayans through building projects and showing God's love to the children in the town of Chisec.  Once we arrive in Guatemala, we will be directed in teams to work on repair of homes, serve in the village and minister to local children through VBS.   

What is the Cost:  $950 will cover everything...airfare, lodging, meals, and supplies.  If you cannot attend, consider making a contribution or sponsor a suitcase stuffed with supplies!

Deadline?  The deadline has past and our preparatory meetings have begun, but we do have four spots left, so if you feel called, you can still apply.

Savannah, GA Mission Trip

June 13-18, 2010

Who Can Go: Youth! Junior and Senior High Students entering 7^th grade in fall 2010 through current 12^th graders

What Will We Do: This awesome trip will include a variety of ministry opportunities including children's programs, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters.  We will also participate in work projects such as painting houses, cleaning up debris, volunteering in community facilities or other jobs that will bless in need.  Evening activities are also planned each night that may include visiting old Savannah, attending a local church service, cookout at the beach and more.  Don't miss this opportunity to serve!

What is the Cost: $350 will cover everything from travel to t-shirts to supplies for the work projects and more.  This mission trip includes all costs so that means no worries for mom and dad to send you extra $'s or buy work supplies!

Deadline?  All attendees must sign up by January 20^th with a $100 non-refundable deposit.  You are not signed up until your deposit is in!  Only 35 youth slots available so sign up asap!
