Guatemala Mission TripAugust 1st- 9th 2010Southside United Methodist has the awesome privilege of partnering with Mission2Guatemala this summer. This eight-day mission project will be a life changing experience for everyone involved! Our hosts, Manny and Cindy Batres began their mission organization due to the desire the had to help meet the needs of the Mayan people of Guatemala. The SUMC mission group has several projects planned including roof work on the local schools in the Chisec, Guatemala area, medical clinics for the general area and VBS for the children. The group will share the gospel with hundreds of children and adults each day! Your Financial and Prayer Support is Crucial to the Success of our Mission. We need $6000 to purchase the building/roofing supplies in Guatemala. Each member of our team is working to raise $1000 each to cover food, housing and plane tickets to get to Guatemala. In addition, we have VBS supplies and medical materials we are collecting. Most of all, we are praying that the Lord will bless our team and feel the Lord's presence as we serve. Donate VBS Supplies!Donations for our Vacation Bible School can be delivered to the church office any time before July 1st. The Mission TeamOur team is made up of 30 highschool and adult volunteers. For the majority of our team members, this is their first time to serve on an overseas mission trip and the impact it will have on both our Chisec friends as well as our own team members from Southside is nothing short of a miracle. We are so blessed to be given this opportunity.
